Thereformedgamers– eFootball, formally known as PES (Pro Evolutional Soccer), is a free-to-play football simulator just like FIFA, which has been recently renamed EAFC. eFootball was a complete overhaul of the game PES by Konami as they aimed to change their strategy in the football simulator genre. They made the game completely digital, free to play, and had some license changes.
Konami wanted to easily transition the game to different gaming generations and football seasons and implement eFootball crossplay. Crossplay in EFootball Games
More game makers and publishers have updated their games to meet standards since cross-platform gaming became the norm for multiplayer games. This covers both EA Sports, which added cross-play in 2022, and eFootball, which did so in 2021, about a year after the game came out.
Crossplay in eFootball lets players from different groups and platforms play with and against each other. To this list belong the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox One Series X, PC, and even mobile devices.

The Gameplay Across Platforms
Unreal Engine 4 is used in Konami’s eFootball. The game plays and has the same physics on all devices except mobile. However, the graphics look and play much better on modern hardware. This isn’t a big plus for people with the newest hardware, though. Konami wants to make sure that the gameplay is the same on all devices except for mobile, which may be because of hardware limitations.

The Future of EFootball Crossplay
Concerning eFootball’s future, Konami has stated that the game will remain a live service and will continue to receive technical help and updates. But right now, EA Sport has most of the football players, with EAFC and eFootball still being very popular. The fact that the game is free to play and has a big player base means it’s in a good spot.
