Thereformedgamers– There has been talk about the Gulag in Call of Duty Warzone since it came out in 2020. There is one last chance for the person who was eliminated to fight their way back into the game and have a second chance to win. Each player in Warzone 2.0 only gets one chance to go to the Gulag, but it’s very different from Warzone (2020). Because of this, we’ve made a guide that will quickly explain the Warzone 2.0 Gulag.
There isn’t another battle royale game that does this important game feature. When you die in Fortnite, Apex Legends, or PUBG, you’re dead until your friends find a way to bring you back to life. However, the Warzone 2.0 Gulag gives players a real chance to get back into the fight, as long as they’re good enough. Getting there is not easy, and there are some surprises along the way.
Now, let’s talk about how the Warzone 2.0 Gulag is different from the first game and how you can easily beat it.
How Is the Warzone 2.0 Gulag Different?
Any player who is killed will be dragged into the arena with a bag over their head when the Warzone 2.0 Gulag starts. The next sixty seconds or so are all about desperately staying alive. If the player wins the next fight, they’ll be able to get back into the game, no matter if they’re in Solos, Duos, Trios, or Quads.
The Warzone 2.0 Gulag is different from the original Gulag that was put in place in 2020 in the following ways:
- In Warzone 2.0, the Gulag has pivoted from a 1v1 model to a 2v2 system, matching up players at random.
- In Warzone 2.0, there’s a Jailer who can spawn in the Gulag with advanced weapons, and killing him grants immediate escape to all players in the Gulag.
- In Warzone 2.0, the Gulag spawns weapons and equipment as ground loot, so what you start with isn’t necessarily what you end with.

In Warzone 2.0, a Jailer can appear in the Gulag with advanced weapons. Killing him lets everyone in the Gulag leave right away.
In Warzone 2.0, guns and gear drop from the Gulag as ground loot, so what you start with might not be what you end up with.
We have the tips you need to beat the Gulag in Warzone 2.0. Thankfully, the process isn’t too hard, and you’ll be much better off from the start if you know how to use a gun well. There are, however, some tips you can use to do better in the Gulag more often.

How to Escape the Warzone 2.0 Gulag?
You were just killed, and now you’re in the Gulag, ready to fight. There are a few things you can do to help you get out of the Warzone 2.0 Gulag:
- If you can, use proximity chat or game chat and try to communicate with your duo. It could be that you were enemies moments before, but this is the time to team up.
- It’ll require a few deaths, but take your time to learn the small map as quickly as possible – the Gulag typically changes once every few months, and you’ll need to get up to speed quickly.
- Make use of cover as much as possible, mounting wherever you need to for a cleaner shot. It’s almost a guarantee that, for the first few seconds, the enemies are coming from in front of you, so use that information to your advantage.
- If you’re last alive, make sure you take cover, try and pick up something a little more capable, and pick your shots. There’s a time limit, so you need to be fast, but don’t go gung-ho if both of your opponents are sharp and alert.
- Make use of any equipment, particularly non-lethals that slow your opponents down: stuns, flashbangs, and tear gas. There’s an advantage here in the fact that you know there are only two enemies, so you don’t need to panic.
There’s no reason you couldn’t get out of the Warzone 2.0 Gulag and back into the fight in seconds if you follow these tips.
