The Launch of New Game Modes in Chapter 5
In Chapter 5, Fortnite introduced three major new game modes: Fortnite Festival (a music-themed game similar to Guitar Hero), Lego Fortnite (an open-world survival game), and Rocket Racing. Rocket Racing, inspired by Rocket League, incorporates the mechanics of Fortnite’s cars, giving it a unique feel.

It’s still unclear whether Epic is stopping official tracks entirely or just moving away from themed updates. The good news is that new cosmetic rewards are available!
Is Rocket Racing Dead?
Despite the reduced support, Rocket Racing isn’t dead! Although its player numbers are lower than other Fortnite modes, it still has a dedicated fan base. Matchmaking times are quick, and the mode is getting updates, even if they aren’t as frequent or substantial as before.
Fortnite’s overall player count is huge, making it easy to think Rocket Racing is struggling in comparison. But, when compared to other similar games in the racing genre, Rocket Racing still has decent numbers. It’s not fair to call it “dead.”
