In the Clavision: Snow Ruyi event, Virtus.pro stunned Team Spirit by defeating their inter-regional opponent in the group stage. On July 29, VP defeated Spirit 2-1 following 61 minutes of play.
Virtus.pro emerged victorious in the first game of the back-and-forth series thanks to their high-risk, high-reward selections of Sven and Windranger. In game two, however, the two-time TI champions Team Spirit retaliated, intimidating their rivals with their excellent map control.
A faltering Team Spirit tried to take advantage of comfort picks in the championship game, but in the end they were unable to overcome an unexpectedly strong Virtus.After a nearly four-hour series that lasted into the late hours of the night in Zhangjiakou, China, professional VP defeated Spirit 2-1.
VP presently has two stand-ins at support in the form of Dmitry “doctorboom” Tazhibaev of Hydra and Vladislav “Rein” Kosygin of One Move. And in filling in, these two supports haven’t missed a beat, giving VP the opportunity to pull off the upset victory.
Following Na’Vi’s 2-0 victory earlier in the day, Virtus.pro was predicted to suffer yet another devastating defeat. However, the group reversed course and startled the adversary.

Thus far in the Snow Ruyi Group Stage, Team Spirit’s performance has not been particularly impressive. After one day, the squad has one win, one loss, and a 3-3 record. They still have two games left to play tomorrow.
Team Spirit needs to turn things around as the group stage comes to an end because, so far in the Snow Ruyi event, its Eastern European rivals Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro appear ready to topple them.
Clavision: On July 30, Snow Ruyi will conclude its group stage. Following a one-day break on July 31, the competition will continue through August 4. The majority of the $500,000 prize fund will go to the Champion.
