A unanimous decision decided that the Olympic Esports Games would be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2025, marking the first time in sporting history.

The proposal of the IOC Executive Board (EB) has been approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which is in charge of organizing the 2024 Olympic Games, and it will take place in Paris a few days before competition begins.
Furthermore, the Olympic Esports Games will be held in the Kingdom for the next three editions thanks to a 12-year partnership between the IOC and the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Saudi Arabia.
After Singapore hosted the Olympic Esports Week the previous year, this is the conclusion. The IOC President requested that the IOC Esports Commission look into the possibility of creating the Olympic Esports Games at the 141st IOC Session due to the event’s success.

A project that blends gaming with promoting Olympic principles, such as gender equality and engagement with younger audiences, was developed by the IOC Esports Commission, which is chaired by IOC Member David Lappartient and includes prominent esports professionals like G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte.
The first edition of the event is scheduled to take place in a city and venue to be determined later. Further information will be disclosed later.
