Finally, after a year of building anticipation, EVO 2024—the pinnacle of the fighting game esports scene—is almost here. The tournament is more expansive than in previous years. Players will compete in every major fighter from July 19–21 in an effort to identify new Champions.
There will be a sizable number of first gaming events at EVO this year. Even if games like SF 6 were tested out the previous year, a ton of new titles have been launched since EVO 2023.
We’ll be playing Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, and more in our inaugural tournament. Several of the greatest fighting games are making their debuts.
Returning to the competition are major sponsors in other areas. Similar to Chipotle, returning for a second year in a row.
This year’s convention boasts a more airy style, complete with extracurricular activities including an art gallery and museum! But the primary attraction is the head-to-head fighting competitions. What is the expected workflow for EVO 2024?
EVO 2024 Preview
The largest fighting game tournaments in the West are the EVO series. The tournament series, now controlled by Sony, is a fighter’s dream come true. Every one of the highlighted games will have a pool round over the course of just three days, July 19–21, and then a double elimination bracket will determine the victors. There are two kinds of tournaments at every EVO.
The biggest fighting game tournaments with the biggest prize pools are the main stage events. On the other hand, community highlight events also take place. This is where more recent or classic games are played; even though they may not have the biggest fan base at the moment, watching them played well is still entertaining. At EVO, the games are always the most thrilling aspect. What lineup do we have this year?

Which Game Is the Most Played at EVO 2024?
Just now, the EVO 2024 registration numbers were made public! With the most contestants of any esports tournament, we’ve known for a while that this will be a record-breaking event.
However, it’s interesting to see how it compares to the other games. Which books are in the lead right now?
It comes as no surprise that Street Fighter 6 is the leader here. Participation in the Capcom Cup this year is highly desired by players. We now go on to Tekken 8. Another freshly released game that has gamers talking is receiving a lot of attention. Guilty Gear Strive comes in third and is a little more unexpected. For years to come, this title will continue to lead EVO registrations. It just won’t go away.
We have a couple more surprises after that. Mortal Kombat 1 is an especially startling one. Despite being a recent release, it is ranked slightly over 600 in the main three fighters. Additionally, Under Night IN-Birth II has performed admirably. More than a thousand people have signed up for SF 3 thus far after its release, which is another huge surprise!
Several titles are obviously at the top of EVO 2024. However, it’s noteworthy to note that this year has seen a rise in the number of games overall.
EVO 2024 Sets a New High
With its recent record-breaking attendance, EVO 2024 is now officially the biggest esports event. EVO 2024 registration numbers have already started to rise significantly. But it’s evident today that involvement is far more widespread than we initially believed. Out of all the esports events we have witnessed in the past, the competition will formally have the highest participation rate.
How did EVO accomplish this new high? The nature of EVO is mostly responsible for it. It has a huge selection of fighting games, making it the epicenter of the genre. Many various games are receiving a lot of registrations for 2024 as a result of new fighting game releases.
EVO 2024 Entry Policies
There are just a few days left to register at EVO 2024 and take part. Registration has been available for some time. The organizers have already started to make available brief summaries of the registration process. To begin with, more people have signed up for this event than for EVO 2023!
EVO has been expanding annually, and 2024 will surpass 2023 in size. When it came to breaking registration records, that year had already gone too far.
