Since around 7:00 PM EST on June 13, thousands of Fortnite players have been facing problems while trying to log in and join matches.
The issues started soon after the launch of Chapter 6 Season 3, and many users took to social media to complain.
Fortnite’s official support account has confirmed the problem. They posted that their team is actively investigating the server outage. However, there is no exact timeline for when everything will be back to normal.
New Season, New Trouble
Fortnite just launched Chapter 6 Season 3, which introduced a superhero theme. Players are excited to see Superman and Robin in the battle pass, along with new Hero Items that let players use special powers during matches.
These exciting updates led to a sudden spike in player traffic, as many fans rushed to try out the new features. But unfortunately, the server problems have stopped many from enjoying the latest content.
Official Confirmation from Epic Games
Shortly after the issues were reported, Fortnite Status posted that they are aware of the matchmaking and login issues.
The Epic Games status page has labeled the situation as a “Major Outage” affecting many features, including:
- Game services
- Login
- Voice chat
- Item shop
An update on the status page also mentioned that the root of the issue has been identified, and a fix is being worked on. But again, there’s no confirmed time for when the fix will be done.
Fans Hope for a Quick Fix
This outage has occurred at a time when many players were preparing to enjoy Fortnite over the weekend. The frustration is understandable, especially with all the new superhero content just released.
For now, players are advised to keep an eye on @FortniteStatus on social media or check the Epic Games status page for the latest updates.
