Destiny 2 June 2025 Update: What’s New in the Latest Patch?

Destiny 2 June 2025 Update: What’s New in the Latest Patch?

The June 2025 update for Destiny 2 is here, and it brings some much-needed fixes and gameplay improvements, especially for those diving into the “Rite of the Nine” activity.

With the upcoming Edge of Fate expansion just around the corner, Bungie is setting the stage for what’s next.

The new patch mainly focuses on fixing bugs, but there are also some exciting quality-of-life changes. One of the biggest highlights? Players can now change their Bungie name again—but only once, using a token.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s new in this update.

Rite of the Nine Fixes

Bungie has addressed multiple issues in the “Rite of the Nine” activity. Players had reported seeing the Emissary randomly duplicating in the IX Realm, and that bug has finally been fixed.

Also, the lift to access the Ghosts of the Deep chest should now work properly, even if you didn’t complete the Spire of the Watcher in the previous week. This change makes it easier for players to explore and earn rewards during the event.

One more important fix: Bungie has removed steps for unlocking the Navigator’s catalyst in Explorer Mode since the catalyst isn’t dropping even after completing those steps.

New Name Change Option

For the first time since 2021, players are being given a Bungie Name change token.

This token allows you to update your in-game name, but be careful, because once you use it, your new name is locked for about three months. These tokens are rarely handed out, so choose wisely.

Armor and Triumph Updates

Hunters, take note. The Omnioculus Exotic chest piece now works properly with the Mechanopupil ornament, showing off its unique visual effect as intended. This fix makes sure your look and performance match up.

In terms of Triumphs, Bungie has added progress tracking for Seeker of the Nine when playing both Spire of the Watcher and Ghosts of the Deep. The Pale Heart Season Challenge will also now correctly register completions.

And for those aiming to complete “The Whisper” challenge in the Moments of Triumph 2024 Title, a previous issue that prevented progress after deleting the quest has been resolved.
