Brawl Stars Confirms Removal of Mastery System, Launches Limited-Time 1000% Mastery Event

Brawl Stars is making a major change, and not everyone is happy about it. Supercell has announced that the Mastery system – a popular feature that rewards players for grinding with their favorite brawlers – will be removed in the upcoming update.

To help players get the most out of it before it’s gone, Supercell has launched one of its biggest events ever: the 1000% Mastery Madness Event.

What is the 1000% Mastery Event?

The 1000% Mastery Madness event is a limited-time celebration that allows players to earn Mastery Points up to 10 times faster than usual. It’s also a community-wide challenge.

If the global player base collectively earns 700 billion Mastery Points, the full 1000% boost will be unlocked for everyone.

To make this grind easier, Supercell has raised the daily Mastery point limit, giving everyone a real chance to progress. This means you can now level up your favorite brawlers much faster than before.

Rewards from this event include:

  • A Mega Trophy Box
  • Legendary and Hypercharge Starr Drops
  • Unique cosmetics like a Pin, Title, and Player Icon
  • A massive amount of Mastery Points

You can even track global progress directly from the main screen via a new button. But there’s a catch—once the update hits, Mastery rewards in their current form will be deleted or reworked. So, if you want to keep your progress and rewards, now is the time to grind.

What Will Replace the Mastery System?

While the Mastery system is going away, Supercell isn’t scrapping everything. Instead, they’re splitting it into two new systems: Trophy Road Rework and Records.

  • Trophy Road Rework will now be more rewarding, especially for new players. Some of the current Mastery rewards will be moved there.
  • Records will track your achievements and let you unlock cosmetics like Titles, Icons, and Pins later, even though they won’t be available right after the update. Supercell said more info on Records will come in the next Brawl Talk.

So technically, Mastery isn’t completely disappearing—it’s just being repackaged and delayed, which is part of why fans are so frustrated.

Why Are Players Angry?

Despite the generous 1000% boost, the reaction online, especially on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), has been mostly negative.

Players are upset because they’ve spent hundreds of hours grinding for Mastery titles and cosmetics, and now it feels like all that effort may go to waste.

Many players who were close to completing all Mastery levels feel especially let down. Some say Supercell should’ve improved the system, not removed it. Others believe the 1000% boost is just a distraction to soften the backlash.

There’s also worry about whether all rewards will truly return through the new Records system, or if they’ll be locked behind future paywalls or events.

What Should You Do Now?

If you care about Mastery rewards, the message is clear: grind now before it’s too late. Focus especially on Mythic and Legendary brawlers, and try to push them to Silver III or higher.

That way, you’ll at least keep the important cosmetic items when the Records system eventually goes live.
