Fans of action games have something big to look forward to this year. Ninja Gaiden 4 will officially launch on October 21, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5, with a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.
The release date was announced by developer Team Ninja and PlatinumGames during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8.
Along with the announcement, a new trailer was released showing exciting gameplay footage.
The nearly two-minute video revealed intense battles, fast-paced platforming, and sleek combat moves—features that long-time Ninja Gaiden fans will instantly recognize.
Xbox Cloud Gaming and Game Pass Support Confirmed
One of the biggest updates is that Ninja Gaiden 4 will be available through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
This means that players with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription can stream the game directly to their phones, tablets, PCs, or consoles without needing to download it.
This streaming feature is part of Xbox’s effort to let users play high-quality games on the go. Additionally, Ninja Gaiden 4 will be available on PC Game Pass, making it accessible for Windows users on the same day as the console launch.
Marking Team Ninja’s 30th Anniversary

This new game is more than just a sequel—it’s part of a celebration. The release is set to be the highlight of Team Ninja’s 30th anniversary, which began earlier this year with the re-release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.
The timing shows that the studio is committed to giving fans something special in 2025.
Xbox Play Anywhere and Cross-Platform Access
One of the most exciting features is that Ninja Gaiden 4 will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title. This means if you buy it once digitally, you can play it on both Xbox consoles and Windows PCs without having to pay again.
The game is available for pre-order now for $69.99, while the Deluxe Edition will cost $89.99. Pre-orders also come with a bonus in the form of a Dark Dragon Descendant Yakumo skin, giving players a unique cosmetic item to show off in-game.
PlayStation 5 Also Gets a Day-One Release
Although it’s being heavily promoted as part of Xbox Game Pass, Ninja Gaiden 4 will not be an Xbox exclusive. PlayStation 5 users will also get to play the game from day one, which is a great move for fans who prefer Sony’s platform.
This shows that even though Xbox Game Studios is involved, the game is designed to reach a wider audience, not just those in the Xbox ecosystem.
