Fortnite Chapter 6 introduces an exciting but controversial feature: Medallions. These powerful items, pivotal in securing victories, are back but in a reduced form compared to earlier seasons.
With only two Medallions available, they’re harder to find and require players to overcome significant challenges. Here’s what you need to know about the new Medallions and how to get them.
The Two Fortnite Chapter 6 Medallions
1. Wanderer Medallion
The Wanderer Medallion is a strong but tricky item to obtain. It is dropped by Shogun X, a mini-boss that doesn’t spawn at the start of the game. Instead, Shogun X appears on a collection of rifted floating islands, replacing the Rift-In Loot Lake-house POI.
Shogun X is a larger, tougher version of the samurai NPCs seen wandering the map. Taking him down is not overly difficult, but surviving third-party attacks during or after the fight adds to the challenge.
Players must eliminate Shogun X to claim the Wanderer Medallion, which provides infinite sprint and invisibility while sprinting. Pair this with enhanced blade weapon moves, and you’ve got a powerful combination.
2. Night Rose Medallion
The second Medallion, the Night Rose Medallion, is guarded by a boss at the Demon’s Dojo POI. This encounter is more traditional but far from easy. The fight begins against the Night Rose skin, transitioning into a battle with a giant Oni face that uses Night Rose as a puppet.
Players need to target the glowing eyes of the Oni mask while dodging powerful fireballs. Damage the mask enough, and the puppet will drop, allowing players to attack Night Rose briefly before the cycle restarts.
The battle’s duration and the risk of attracting other players make it intense. Winning this fight rewards the Night Rose Medallion, which automatically reloads your weapons, a valuable ability for weapons like the Oni Shotgun.

Key Challenges with Medallions
- Rarity: With only two Medallions on the map, finding them is tougher than in past seasons.
- High-Risk Boss Fights: Both Medallions require defeating challenging bosses while fending off third-party attacks.
- Timing: Securing these Medallions often happens mid to late-game, increasing the difficulty of holding onto them.
Are Medallions Worth It?
Despite the challenges, these Medallions are game-changers. Their abilities offer significant advantages, especially in high-pressure situations.
Fortnite’s future updates might introduce more Medallions, but for now, mastering these two is crucial for Chapter 6 success.
