New Indiana Jones Title Announced

Indy is back with a brand new adventure thanks to Bethesda and Lucasfilm Games.

Today, Lucasfilm Games and Bethesda Softworks announced that they would be reviving the Indiana Jones franchise for a modern gaming audience. Tapping internal developer Machine Games (known primarily for their Wolfenstein reboot), Bethesda aims to deliver a standalone game starring the legendary archeologist in a “wholly original tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer.”

In an official blog post, Bethesda said that Todd Howard is on board to executive produce the title. Senior VP of global marketing for Bethesda, Pete Hines, sums up Howard’s involvement, “Todd is a lifelong Indy fan, and has been trying for over a decade to make this game. He’s beyond excited to work with the award-winning MachineGames team, a perfect fit for Indy.” Not much else was revealed other than Bethesda adding on Twitter, “It’ll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!” With the recent acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft, one can easily deduce that the new Indiana Jones game will release on Xbox platforms and PC whenever it launches. Machine Games is an incredibly talented studio, so all of us here at TRG are very excited to see what they can do with the franchise.
