Deer Thoughts on Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The Game That Could Not Have Arrived At A Better Time

It’s been a little over a week since Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched and it’s taken the world by storm. A look online shows a plethora of experiences gamers are enjoying from racing to catch the Stringfish before March ends to creating different game modes for multiplayer. I, personally, have really enjoyed streaming the game on our Twitch channel and hosting Scavenger Hunts and Hide & Seek matches. But what about the people playing in our community? What do they think of the game? Well, we asked and here’s the responses:

King of Thrift, Adam, is really digging it! Here’s what he had to say:

“I had a lot of reservations buying Animal Crossing New Horizon since I have never played one before. But it only took me a few minutes to really fall in love with the island. It a life full of complexities, the simplicity of Animal Crossing shines. From crafting supplies to fishing or bug collecting, I keep finding myself wanting to do one more thing before I log off. Throw in the ability to explore your friends islands and you have a good time on your hands every time you pick up your switch.”

Adam Clodfelter has this to say about ACNH:

“It’s honestly a brilliant game that has come at the perfect time, accidentally. A game of routines, meeting goals, making friends, building stuff, decorating, and even a little farming. All while most people have had the safety of routine taken from them. It’s fun, it’s simple, and has been one of the brightest spots of community for me over the last week. Animal Crossing was strangely the game we all needed now.”

Ben Headley is loving it! Here’s what he thinks:

“I love it so far! It has exceeded my expectations by creating a new adventure for you to embark on while maintaining the core elements of the series we all know and love.”

Jonathan Steele, on Twitter, writes in:

“As a father of 2, I have little energy for intense, twitchy gameplay, or huge RPGs with complex systems. My game time needs to be chill & restorative, not challenging & complicated. ACNH is a mini-vacation every time I play. There are many things to do, but I’m never overwhelmed.”

Jojo Monroe is digging the relaxing tone of the game:

“I love that while it is so relaxing, thanks to a wonderful soundtrack and adorable art, there is no time requirement on fulfilling the tasks (that I know of). It’s nice to be able to go at your own pace. And learn to be a good neighbor.”

Chadd is playing the game with his wife, stating:

“I got the game as something my wife and I could both enjoy together and it’s done just that. It’s a great game that has a lot to offer gamers of all types. I’m officially an Animal Crossing fan now!”
