“I Am Jesus Christ” Developer Q&A

SimulaMobile’s CEO answers our questions about their upcoming game

A month ago, IGN posted a trailer to a game from SimulaMobile titled, “I Am Jesus Christ”. The trailer showed that players would play as Jesus Christ and perform miracles and healings, fight demons, and open the door of the tomb. The game’s description on Steam reads:

Become Jesus Christ, the famous man on Earth – in this highly realistic simulation game. Pray like Him for getting superpower, perform famous miracles like Him from Bible like casting out demons, healing and feeding people, resurrection and more in “I am Jesus Christ”.

The game’s announcement garnered a variety of responses across Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and other social media outlets. The trailer certainly caught our attention and left us with some questions.

We reached out to PlayWay, publisher of “I Am Jesus Christ”, with some questions regarding the game. Below are the questions we sent, via email, and the answers from PlayWay CEO, Maksym Vysochanskiy.

TRG: Where did the idea for “I Am Jesus Christ” come from?

Maksym: This game is like 30 years journey in my life, because I waited for this moment almost 30 years. First this idea came to me when I was teenager, when I was inspired by computer games and computer animation. I wanted to create computer animation cartoon movie about Jesus Christ. And during the last years it changed more to computer game, because it can show from first perspective what Jesus Christ did. Beside that we treat game creation as an art. For hundreds of years many artists made great paintings about Jesus Christ. Last 50 years have been famous with some great movies about Him. Now, we want to create art masterpiece with computer game.

TRG: How are you using your game to depict Jesus Christ as God wrapped in flesh?

Maksym: This is hard question… we are trying to follow game similar to what we see in Gospels. So, the best will be for players to see at the end how it will look like in the final version of the game.

TRG: What are your views of God and what has influenced those views?

Maksym: This is another hard question, because you can speak about that for couple hours. But yes I read Bible couple times in different translations and Jesus Christ inspired me a lot.
